I was invited to an open house by a broker. It was more of an investment property. This is what the broker told me about the property:

1*** Unionport Road, $119K, CC $543.33, tenant paying $940

The tenant that lives in there is renovating the apartment himself. Does this sound like a scam or am I viewing this wrong? The broker advise me if I am interested, the property could be mine but the tenant included and she will lower the price to $114,000. What do you guys think?

We are thinking of the Orlando area but don’t know where to start as we live in Ireland. We see ourselves using the property for 2 weeks a year and would like it rented out for the rest of the year.
Is buying on a resort a good idea? Will they manage the rental of the property? How much do the typically charge for maintanance? Ideally we want the rent to pay the mortgage.
Any suggestions on the matter would be much appreciated.

We have a rental property in AZ and live in California.. I know that when you drive there, you can claim the miles and gas on your taxes.. But we would rather fly.. If so, can we include the expense of our plane tickets on our taxes under our investment property?

I own a tri-plex with some family members. One of the other families wants to sell their unit. We’re concerned that it will be sold to someone outside the family and we’ll have troubles dealing with them on things like maintenance and use of the property. We’re thinking we need to set up an HOA to protect ourselves. Is an HOA the best course of action? If so, how do we go about doing that? Thanks.

I start school in feb for respiratory therapy and after that I planned on being a traveling respiratory therapist. But since all my expenses would be paid for by my company. I think a rental property could be a good investment? I am just looking for investment options for extra money? Plus I can always live in the property if I decide to stop traveling
School is 21 months?
actually 15 months but I decide to opt for advance training because that is extra money in your salary.

I recently did some repair work on a investment property I own (it is rented). Do I need the original receipts (let’s say from Home Depot) on the materials bought, or can the person that did the work put it all on one receipt with his labor charges?
